November 4 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm UTC+10
""

About

The NSW Parliament currently has an opportunity to take a historic step forward by establishing an inquiry into a Human Rights Act for NSW.

PWDA’s Senior Policy Officer Julian Laurens is joining the Human Rights Act for NSW Alliance for a free online lunchtime community briefing to find out more about why 118 organisations and experts are calling for a private member’s Human Rights Bill, introduced last week by by Jenny Leong MP, to be referred for a comprehensive community consultation.

We’ll explain what a Human Rights Act could mean for you and your community, how other states and territories already protect human rights in law, and actions that you can take to call on all NSW Parliamentarians to support an inquiry.

We want everyone to join the the conversation about ensuring values we all share – like fairness, respect, dignity and compassion – are always at the heart of government decisions, laws, and services.

ONLINE Tuesday 4th November 2025 from 12.00pm – 1.30pm AEDT
