Supporting Students with Disability

Are you supporting a NSW public school student with disability? Do they live in South-East, South-West or Central Sydney? PWDA can help.

About Futures Education

PWDA’s Disability Advocacy Futures Program provides information services and advocacy assistance to people living in Sydney, South-Eastern Sydney, and South-Western Sydney Local Health District areas.

View all areas and providers serviced by the Disability Advocacy Futures Program.

It is not a requirement that you are an NDIS participant to receive support through this program.

The Futures Education Program specialises in helping school-aged children and young people with disability in NSW Public Schools. It is funded by the NSW Department of Communities and Justice with NSW Department of Education.

How does PWDA help?

Our team of trained advocates can support with:

  • Free, confidential, and personalised support to students with disability and their families.
  • Assistance to access and navigate the NSW Public School System and other services.
  • Assistance exploring options to facilitate the studies of students with disability in public schools.

Examples of how we can help:

  • Provide information about your rights as a student with disability.
  • Detail the kind of support your school should provide to you as a student with disability.
  • Connect you with other services that can help.
  • Talk to your school and prepare letters and applications.
  • Assist you to raise concerns with schools and the NSW Department of Education.
