National Director, Individual Advocacy

People with Disability Australia (PWDA) seeks a National Director of Individual Advocacy to lead our Individual Advocacy services in their delivery of a high-quality and accessible client experience for all people with disability using our services.

As a national cross-disability membership organisation led by people with disability, PWDA has a proud 40-year history of developing and promoting prevention strategies and resources to address and eliminate the causes of issues adversely impacting people with disability and our associates.

The National Director of Individual Advocacy will drive continuous improvement of Individual Advocacy Services and related PWDA processes to ensure systems, tools and resources support the delivery of individual advocacy for all people with disability.

Director of Strategic Projects

People with Disability Australia seeks a Director of Strategic Projects to oversee the organisation’s strategic projects and maximise fee-for-service opportunities that include training, research and consultancy services. The Director will also be the lead on a significant project with responsibility for personally delivering against key project milestones.

The Director of Strategic Projects will develop, grow and lead a portfolio of programs, initiatives and opportunities aligned with PWDA’s strategic objectives and will develop processes to support innovation, consistency and efficiency in its delivery of high quality outcomes that meets client, organisational and funder expectations.

Payroll and Finance Assistant

The Payroll and Finance Assistant will support the Operations and Administration Manager in managing the functionalities of its payroll system and perform financial administrative duties relating to accounts payable and receivable.

The role is based in the Surry Hills office, and successful applicant must be available Monday & Tuesday. This role is not available for a remote or hybrid set-up.

Information, Intake and Referral Officer

The Information, Intake and Referral Officer will assist walk-ins, answer incoming phone calls and respond to online information requests. They engage with people with disability, their families, and others who contact PWDA (including those seeking to contact PWDA staff), providing them with information and, where appropriate, referrals (including assisted referrals) to relevant agencies or through intake to the PWDA Individual Advocacy Services.

The role is based in the Surry Hills office on a full-time basis.

Trainer and Facilitator

PWDA is expanding our education and training services.

We’ll be building a pool of experienced trainers with disability who we can call on as needed. The volume of enquiries for support with educational materials and training, and requests to partner on training content will vary considerably. Our pool of trainers means PWDA will be ready to meet demand.

We’d love to hear from you if you are:

  • Interested in casual employment;
  • Living in Sydney, or living in regional NSW or interstate and prepared to travel and /or deliver training online;
  • An experienced trainer or facilitator with disability; and/or
  • An experienced content writer with disability.

We are particularly interested in trainers and content writers experienced in developing and delivering adult educational training material and resources.
