Evidence to Action
December 5 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm UTC+10
Exploring the evidence to enable the elimination of restrictive practices in Australia
We’re pleased to be collaborating with the National Disability Research Partnership (NDRP) and Inclusion Australia for the first event in the NDRP’s Evidence to Action program in December.
On 5 December, join us for the event: Exploring the Evidence to Enable the Elimination of Restrictive Practices in Australia.
Together with the NDRP and Inclusion Australia, we chose this topic because of how important it is for the rights and safety of people with disability to eliminate restrictive practices.
We will talk about how we can make sure everyone understands the harm restrictive practices cause. We will also share evidence that shows how Australia can eliminate restrictive practices by thinking differently about why they are used. We will then discuss ways that future research can support this goal.
Speakers will include people with lived experiences of restrictive practices and other experts.
Date: Thursday 5 December 2024
Time: 1-4pm AEDT.
Venue: Online Zoom event with Auslan and captions.
Cost: This event is free.
