As Disability Representative Organisations, we jointly acknowledge there will come a time when we will need to discuss the response to the final recommendations of the Disability Royal Commission, with the people who have been the most hurt at the heart of this response. We will do this in our own time, and our own space.
It is time to honour our fundamental human rights. It is time to respect the stories we have shared. Hear us. The time for justice, for healing to begin, is now. We demand nothing less.

From March to May 2023, People with Disability (PWDA) undertook a survey of people with disability in Australia to better understand people’s experiences with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
As part of People with Disability Australia’s (PWDA) response to the NDIS Review, PWDA conducted an online survey about NDIS participants’ choice and control in NDIS-funded housing and supports.
We support a ‘yes’ vote in the forthcoming Referendum because we believe the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice to Parliament will provide a mechanism for First Nations Peoples to work in genuine partnership with governments.

The experiences and feedback shared by members at the forum, along with the survey responses will now contribute to the PWDA Board’s Position Statement on COVID-19.
The Board of People with Disability Australia (PWDA) has established a number of voluntary Board Advisory Groups to help make sure that PWDA has strong advisory processes and procedures. The PWDA Board have opened nominations for the PWDA Board Advisory Groups.
The project seeks to improve outcomes for women, girls, feminine-identifying and non-binary people with disability in Australia across leadership representation and workforce participation and safety.
