InFocus: Queer & Disabled

The theme was developed through consultation with our members. We surveyed our members asking them to tell us what the 2026 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras ‘ECSTATICA’ meant to them.

The key message that emerged is that our theme should be a joyous celebration of freedom, self-expression without fear, and opportunity to breakdown barriers and shift cultural attitudes.

InFocus: Queer & Disabled shines a vibrant light on our determination to continue to shift the societal attitude and our continuous fight for our human rights – highlighting our pride and our resistance. It is a reminder to everyone that we demand a society that is truly inclusive where our diversity is recognised, respected and joyously celebrated.
