Community Attitudes project
Connection and Safety in our Communities – Disability and LGBTQIA Intersectionality

This project will deliver a national awareness and education program to promote the inclusion of LGBTQIA+ people with disability in workplaces and communities.
By increasing awareness of the intersection of LGBTQIA+ and disability identities, the project seeks to challenge stigma and discrimination, shift public attitudes, and foster safer and more inclusive spaces for LGBTQIA+ people with disability in all aspects of life.
Central to the project is the leadership and lived experience of LGBTQIA+ people with disability. All content will be co-designed and delivered by community members, ensuring authenticity, cultural relevance and accessibility.
About the project
Launching in 2026, the nationwide project will feature webinars, accessible resources, and public education activities to ensure broad reach across all states and territories.
Program development will be led by an advisory group of LGBTQIA+ people with disability.
