2023 Board Advisory Groups

The Board of People with Disability Australia (PWDA) has established a number of voluntary Board Advisory Groups to help make sure that PWDA has strong advisory processes and procedures. The PWDA Board have opened nominations for the PWDA Board Advisory Groups.

The Board Advisory Groups which are seeking new members are the Governance Advisory Group; the Membership and Engagement Advisory Group; and the Strategic Directions Advisory Group.

Governance Advisory Group

The PWDA Governance Advisory Group is:

  • Composed of up to seven PWDA members, including up to three Ordinary Members in a voluntary capacity.
  • Selected through an open-call process and composed of individuals with lived experience of disability from diverse backgrounds including people from regional areas, diversity in genders/sexualities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people, diverse disability types, race/ethnicity and age to ensure the experience and expertise is reflective of the excluded groups we aim to support and amplify.
  • The commitment is a voluntary two-year term.

Membership and Engagement Advisory Group

The PWDA Membership and Engagement Advisory Group is:

  • Composed of up to seven PWDA members, including up to three Ordinary Members in a voluntary capacity.
