PWDA’s formal response to the Disability Royal Commission Final Report

Home » Disability rights » Disability Royal Commission

For over four and a half years our disability community, laid bare throughout the Disability Royal Commission (DRC) the violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation we have endured and continue to experience. PWDA stood alongside people with disability throughout the DRC, supporting them to share their individual experiences as we collectively called for justice and genuine change.

The next step in being of ‘a voice of our own’ for people with disability has been preparing and launching a formal report in response to the Disability Royal Commission’s recommendations.

Nothing About Us, Without Us

Through this report, PWDA is calling for people with disability, and their representative organisations, to have a formal role in sequencing and prioritising the implementation of reforms flowing from our Disability Royal Commission. We must be at the forefront of every decision, policy, and action that emerges from the Disability Royal Commission’s recommendations and PWDA will continue advocating for this.
