  • Homeless or at risk of homelessness
  • Living in Assisted Boarding Houses
  • Women in prison
  • Living in an institution

Criteria

Are you…

  • Someone with disability who is or has been in any of the above situations
  • Or, if applying on behalf of an organisation: A strong advocate and someone who wants to ensure people with disability have access to NDIS and mainstream services
  • Able to commit to attending (including remotely) and contributing to the Project Advisory Group meetings every 2 months between June 2019 and June 2020
  • Comfortable sharing your experience and opinions regarding disability and barriers to accessing services and the NDIS

Then contact us to apply to the Project Advisory Group.

About the project

The Enable In project targets people with disability who are from hard-to-reach groups. The project is NSW wide. Our work will include talking to individuals and service providers to gain an understanding of the current needs of the target groups, and providing information about the NDIS and mainstream supports that will assist them with their disability needs.

We will achieve this by:

  • Working with people with disability individually
  • Working with services
  • Liaising with the Project Advisory Group
  • Creating and facilitating peer support groups

About the Enable In Project Advisory Group

The project will be overseen and governed by the Enable In Project Advisory Group.  People with disability and representatives from organisations who work with people with disability will be invited to be part of this group.

Members of the Project Advisory Group will have the opportunity to share and develop their expertise by providing oversight and contributing to the project strategies, activities and outcomes. Members will also provide advice regarding the planning, delivery and evaluation of the project.

The Enable In Project Advisory Group will be convened every 2 months, with options for members to teleconference or videoconference into meetings where needed.

Project Advisory Group meetings will typically be held at the PWDA office in Sydney.  The proposed dates for the Project Advisory Group meetings will be included in the Terms of Reference and will be finalised at the first group meeting. The first meeting will commence at the end of May 2019, date to be confirmed.
