Helping you find your way through the Disability Maze
Information about disability services can be hard to find. Our newest project, the Wayfinder Hub, will help you find your way through the maze.
We’ve been funded to start a national disability information and referral service that will help to link people with disability and the specialist and mainstream services they need. The Hub will do this by phone, and web based information, linkages and referrals.
By making it easier to find the information you need, the Wayfinder Hub will make sure that people with disability can get the supports they need to have an equal and ordinary life, in the community.
The Hub will also be a central knowledge base for mainstream organisations looking for guidance and advice about making sure they are accessible and open to people with disability.
We are excited that the Wayfinder Hub will give people with disability and their families easy access to the information, advice and referrals they need to understand choices, link to appropriate supports and make informed decisions about the life they want.
The Hub will be open to the community to contact us via phone, email or internet chat for assistance on any aspect of disability information.
Project Advisory Group
We are forming a Project Advisory Group, so we are looking for some of our members from across the country to join us, so together we can make sure our new Wayfinder Hub website will meet the needs of our diverse community.
We will meet monthly via a number of accessible options, (face to face at our accessible office in Redfern, by phone or by video call) starting in February 2019. Our meetings will discuss the design of the new website, the information it will hold and your expertise will be vital in the testing stage of the website to make sure is accessible to all.
We will have limited places on the group, so we need you to answer a few short questions below. This is a paid opportunity.
If you are interested in joining us in this exciting project, please complete the application by Friday 1 February 2019.
