It is with sadness that People with Disability Australia (PWDA) announce the resignation of Nicole Lee as our President and Board Director effective Thursday 11 January 2024.

Nicole was elected as a Board Director in 2020 and appointed to the position of President in November 2022. In her time as President Nicole led the organisation through the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and shaped our responses to the Disability Royal Commission and NDIS Review.

The PWDA Board express their immense gratitude to Nicole on behalf of the board, our members and the disability community for her tireless advocacy and contribution to PWDA and the disability rights movement more broadly.

We thank Nicole for her time serving our community and fighting for a fully inclusive future in which our rights are respected and celebrated.  We wish Nicole all the very best for the future.

The PWDA Board will be meeting in the coming days to discuss the transition to a new President, and we will keep you updated.

Thank you,

Marayke Jonkers
Vice President
PWDA on behalf of the PWDA Board
