About the Project
The Australian Digital Health Agency (the Agency) wants to make its digital health tools and apps easier to use for people with disability. People with Disability Australia (PWDA) is working with the Agency to improve their tools and apps.
Digital tools and apps include:
- My Health Record
- My Health App (this is now the 1800MEDICARE app)
- Electronic prescriptions
Information on the Agency and their tools and apps can be found on Digital Health website https://www.digitalhealth.gov.au/
To understand how people with disability are using the tools and apps, PWDA engaged in a range of consultation activities with people with disabilities throughout July 2024 including focus groups, interviews and an online survey.
Webinars
Following the initial consultations, PWDA and the Agency facilitated two webinars for people with disability. An Introduction to My Health Record to learn more about the tools and one relating to privacy and security of the digital health tools.
The current webinars are designed for health care professionals to help build their knowledge and ability to support people with disability to access and understand the tools.
