NSW Election 2019
In our 2019 State Election platform, PWDA called on all political parties to get serious about our inclusion in the NSW community.
People with disability in NSW have a right to live in the community and participate fully in economic, social and cultural life. Currently, people with disability are excluded from access to secure, accessible, affordable housing, transport, and employment opportunities. The NSW Government can change this.
People with disability have a right to be included and heard in NSW. We have rights to representation, advocacy, and support. We have the right to decide our futures. Yet our rights are under threat, and decisions are still being made for us. The NSW Government can change this.
People with disability in NSW have the right to live free from violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation. We also deserve access to justice. We are over-represented in prison and often can’t enforce our rights through the courts. The NSW Government can change this.
