Endorsement: Consultation impact of acoustic alert systems on electric vehicles

PWDA endorses this Blind Citizens Australia submission in response to the call to mandate Acoustic Vehicle Alerting Systems (AVAS) for new electric, hydrogen fuel cell and hybrid vehicles in Australia.

This is a submission from Blind Citizens Australia (BCA) to the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts’ proposal to mandate Acoustic Vehicle Alerting Systems (AVAS) for new electric, hydrogen fuel cell and hybrid vehicles in Australia.

In this submission, BCA strongly recommends the introduction of AVAS for all electric, hydrogen fuel cell and hybrid vehicles in Australia. As requested by the Consultation Impact Analysis paper, BCA’s submission provides pertinent information to assist decision-making in this area.
